The Grand Canyon is really grand

This past weekend, the wife and I along with my co-worker and her husband had vouchers to the W Hotel in Scottsdale, Arizona. Before we took off, we all looked at each other and was like what do we do in Arizona?

Grand Canyon? Alright sure that sounds good. So I start mapping out how long it would take and everything. Not exactly the smartest idea since it’s a 4 hour drive on top of the 6 hour drive from Los Angeles to Scottsdale. None the less we were all game to go to the Grand Canyon since none of us had ever been. We drove to the south rim portion of the Grand Canyon and whoa … it blew us away.

There are some places that pictures don’t do it justice. This is one of them, every step I took along the ridge I was amazed. The sure size of the canyons and how ridiculous that no one puts up a rail for saftey. You can literally just jump off, I’m not suggesting people to do it, but just mentioning the possibility of it.

Here are some pictures I took from the weekend.

Here is my wife Tina who is completely fearless of heights. I almost had a heart attack just watching her lean over to check out the cliff.

Another cliff, another heart attack.

Here is a pictures of us. Apparently there is some places that have the rails to guard you from falling off. Those are the places that I feel comfortable walking close to the cliff.

Here is a group shot of us. From left to right, Alex, Lluvia, Tina, and me.

Here is a guy who has no fear of dying. On the other side there is nothing but a straight down path to the bottom of the canyon.

Aweful Alamo

So the last time I booked a rental car for the race in Sonoma, Cali. I ended up with a Alamo rental car. Didn’t think much of it the first time, but I walked in and waited in an extremely long line only to find out, I pricelined it for the wrong weekend. Epic fail Tram!

So, I ran over to Budget near LAX and rented a car. I was the 2nd person in line, waited 5 minutes was assigned a car made payment and boom I’m out of there. I got into a freshly washed Pontiac Vibe and had a wonderful weekend.

Went the following weekend to Alamo to my already paid for rental car since I messed up. Again waited in a very long line to rent a dirty, un-washed car that didn’t even have a full gas tank. Drove the car up to security gate. In which the guy took my reservation information, have me wait while he finishes his story about how he knows GOD is in his life because he starved himself for a week and his family member came out of a coma. After the gentleman kindly finished his story about GOD, then he checked my information and open the gate.

I know this is a rant, but guessed I what. I tried to priceline a car for this weekend’s Arizona trip and end up with, you guessed it. FUCKIN ALAMO.

Long story short. Sometimes priceline is not worth it.
