Project Mendenhall

I was asked a few months back if I would like to help out a non-profit organzation called Mendenhall Ministries to take pictures of their involvement in the community. He said it would be down in Mississippi and the pictures needed to show how beautiful and loving these people are even though they weren’t blessed with the best opportunity to blossom.

Let’s say that it wasn’t very hard to show how loving and beautiful the kids and people of Mendenhall were. I had never been to the south before and this was an absolutely memorable trip down there. There is no way these pictures will show how great these kids were, but I hope it can give you a glimpse.

This is one of the facilities that the Mendenhall Ministries built for the Genesis One Christian School and the kids that attend it.

I also got to hang out with the kids during one of the their Christmas recitals.

On Sunday, I attended church service and decided to take a few snap shots. It was difficult as I didn’t want to disturb the service, so I snuck around and shot from where I was sitting. It is difficult to stay coy with a 70-200 telephoto lens.

After church, Colin and I hung out with the Johnson kids. We walked the neighborhood to say hi to Colin’s old friends. I also taught a few of them how to take pictures with my camera. The camera got quite the loving from the kids.
