Day 2 of Formula D Atlanta was even more amazing than qualifying. 1st place went to Daijiro Yoshihara, 2nd place Vaughn Gitten Jr, 3rd place Chris Forsberg. The final standings and current points leader can be found here on Formula D’s website.
I’ve never attended Formula D Atlanta before and now that I have, it is got to be one of my favorite spots. The atmoshpere was nuts as people were allowed to bring out their tents and BBQs. I’m pretty sure everyone was drunk by noon time and probably didn’t even realize the cars are going sideways and not straight. First day qualifying was pretty interesting and went smoothly. There were a lot more crashes, wrecks, engine issues in Long Beach. Atlanta seemed more seamless and the teams were getting used to their new rides. Tanner Foust qualified 1st with his Scion Racing TC. Here are some snapshots of the day.
